
Workshop: Suicide Intervention and Mindful Self Compassion

Please note the time of this workshop is different from our usual Saturday workshops, running from 9:00-1:00. Registration will start at 8:30.

Description: The workshop will explore strategies for suicide intervention when supporting clients. We will also explore the role of mindful self compassion and the role it can play in supporting practitioner well-being.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn the current context of suicide in clinical practice and the community.
- Participants will gain knowledge of specific language and strategies to intervene appropriately with suicidal clients.
- Participants will learn the rationale and science of mindful self-compassion, including specific strategies to use in a clinical setting.
Cost: $15 students; $30 professionals
For this workshop, we will be providing light snacks for participants as this workshop is longer than our usual workshops. You are also welcome to bring your own food.
