Workshop: Multiculturally Informed Supervision

Details: Saturday, February 25th, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. via ZOOM

Session Description: Participants will learn about multicultural competencies in supervision through several models that exist to better understand cultural identity including: ADDRESSING and RESPECTFUL models, multicultural social justice competencies,  and the broaching continuum. This workshop will also review research results regarding supervisee’s experiences in supervision.

Learning Objectives: After attending this session, participants will be able to:

1. Increase knowledge and understanding of various models available for multicultural practice in counseling.

2. Increase self-awareness and evaluation in individual practitioners of their own cultural identities, intersectionality and microaggressions in supervision.

3. Provide practical strategies for implementing concepts into supervision practice.
